JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:
Forensic Clinical Services is a clinical department operating under the Office of the Chief Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County. Established in 1914, the department has the distinction of being the nation’s first adult psychiatric court clinic. The Circuit Court of Cook County is the largest judicial circuit in the State of Illinois and one of the largest unified court systems in the world.
The Clerk V performs work assignments under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of CIU and is responsible for carrying out functions necessary to effectively process all court ordered referrals received by FCS.
- Open all referrals daily upon receipt of Court Order, clearing for previous clinical history.
- Prepare and send out all appointment letters.
- Prepare Incomplete Court Reports before the continuance date.
- Gather all Court Reports due in Court on a daily basis.
- Update FCS CMS with various scheduled events.
- Prepare testimony and meeting sheets when necessary.
- Edit, close and file cases.
- Number FCS charts when needed.
- Photocopy charts when necessary.
- Responsible for Reception work.
- Perform such other duties assigned as deemed necessary by the Director of FCS.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work well with others, follow instructions, and perform as part of the team
- Excellent work ethic.
- Understanding of and adherence to confidentiality policy.
- Computer literacy, including demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent typing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to listen to voice recordings and transcribe the content into properly formatted, professional quality word processed documents.
- High school diploma or equivalent requires: Microsoft User certification preferred.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk.
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.
- Lift files and other materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Use a telephone, dictation equipment, and computer keyboard and screen on a daily basis.
