JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Graphic Designer / Photographer, Information Services Department
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt – Union Teamsters 700
PAY GRADE: Grade 18, Step E
SALARY: $76,633.00
The following are duties and responsibilities of the Graphic Designer / Photographer.
- Provides photography and videography services for all events pertaining to the Office of the Chief Judge;
- Maintains photography database for the judiciary;
- Responsible for creation and preparation of publications, certificates and awards including recognition, service, acknowledgement, etc.
- Responsible for printing and framing photos using large format printers;
- Assists with processing print orders with the county print shop or 3rd party providers for stationary, business cards, rubber stamps, nameplates, etc.;
- Some local travel required for various court events;
- Responsible for all graphic designing projects for the judiciary and administrative offices of the Office of the Chief Judge;
- Assists with content updates for the Circuit Court of Cook County website, including but not limited to imagery, photos and videos;
- Assists with video content management of the Court’s YouTube Channel;
- Work collaboratively with a team of in-house application developers as well as 3rd party vendors and partner agencies to meet the meet the business objectives of the court

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree – Art/Graphic Design (or equivalent field);
- 2 years of experience as Graphic Designer or similar role;
- Proficient with the skills, knowledge and understanding of the following, including but not limited to:
- Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Drupal web platform, and all Social Media platforms.
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Experience in digital photography and videography is a plus;
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms;
- Team player;
- Good time-management skills;
- Good multitasking abilities;
- Great interpersonal and communication skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work cooperatively and integrate with legal and non-legal personnel.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen;
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk;
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation;
- Strength to lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds;
- Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis;
- Driving pool vehicle.
