JOB TITLE:              CCLAHD CASE COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

JOB SUMMARY AND DUTIES:
This position is responsible for performing case coordination for the CCLAHD Court operations, including the Early Resolution Program (ERP) case call for eviction cases and the Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program (MFMP), which are high volume, fast-paced environments requiring communication with the Court, litigants, and service providers for CCLAHD in a remote court environment.

The ERP Case Coordinator is responsible for management and coordination of the court call for evictions and foreclosures, including:
  • Screening cases as litigants and attorneys come into the zoom court call and referring them to the appropriate zoom breakout rooms (clerk, judge, or ERP case manager);
  • Tracking and managing court call and communicating with the clerk and the court about all referrals made as well as any no-shows;
  • Communicating with the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR) case managers about referrals made;
  • Communicating with judges about all referrals made back to the judge;
  • Assist with other miscellaneous matters as required by the judge/supervisor;
  • Maintain confidentiality while performing duties;
  • Such other duties as may be assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and/or experience: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.

Preferred education and/or experience:
Preference may be given to candidates with a J.D. or paralegal certificate, or other qualifications including 2 or more years of court experience, strong experience in evictions or foreclosure, and/or bilingual capability in Spanish or Polish.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of the courts and the court process.

  • Effective and demonstrated facilitation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. 
  • Familiarity and proficiency with Zoom management and operation and strong comfort level with technology generally.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Effective multi-tasker.
  • Ability to work well with others and integrate with legal and non-legal personnel, including case managers, court clerks, self-represented litigants, attorneys, and judges.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen.  Stand for approximately 2-4 hours per day.  Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds and transport the files to courtrooms.  Use a telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
